Hedge Fund Administration – Accounting

New York and London: June 01, 2011 – Asset management professional Jeff Nason has joined Butterfield Fulcrum, a leading top five independent fund services provider, as Managing Director, Global and Strategic Relationships. In this newly created position, he will be responsible for further developing Butterfield Fulcrum’s relationships with large, complex alternative asset fund groups.

Based in the New York office, Mr. Nason will be responsible for developing client relationships on a global basis, as well as strategic relationships with asset management groups whose fund offerings require service providers with deep experience in difficult trading strategies, illiquid assets and complex fund structures. In Jeff’s new role he will work closely with a team of client integration professionals with accounting and project management qualifications and experience in on boarding complex funds; a risk and valuation team adept at pricing difficult and illiquid assets; and a team of CA’s and CFA’s to deliver robust and timely portfolio and investor reporting.

Hamilton, Bermuda:  May 03, 2011 – Fund industry executives Glenn Henderson and Tim Calveley announced today that they have completed the acquisition of fund administrator, Butterfield Fulcrum, in partnership with BV Investment Partners, a leading middle market private equity firm, following regulatory and government approvals. The acquisition includes FORS Limited, an independent provider of family office and wealth management reporting and administrative services.

With the combination of Butterfield Fulcrum and FORS, the company will offer comprehensive outsourcing solutions across the alternative investment management, family office and trust industries.  The two companies will continue to be run as separate businesses by their respective management.

Glenn Henderson will take on the role of CEO of Butterfield Fulcrum while Tim Calveley will become COO of the parent company and continue as CEO of FORS. Sean Foley has been appointed CFO of Butterfield Fulcrum, effective immediately, while Chris Mulhern will continue in his role as COO & President.

Hamilton, Bermuda – Fund industry executives Glenn Henderson and Tim Calveley announced today that they have partnered with BV Investment Partners, a leading middle market private equity firm, in an agreement to acquire fund administrator Butterfield Fulcrum.

The Butterfield Fulcrum investment follows their 2009 acquisition of FORS Limited, an independent provider of family office and wealth management reporting and administrative services. Butterfield Fulcrum and FORS will be brought together into one parent company, headquartered in Bermuda. They will operate as separate businesses and continue to be run by their current management teams.

The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2011, subject to regulatory and governmental approvals. Butterfield Fulcrum is currently owned by 3i Group plc and The Bank of N. T. Butterfield & Son Limited (Butterfield). Upon completion of the transaction, Messrs. Henderson and Calveley will have significant ownership stakes, along with BV Investment Partners. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
